Sirkulare UB offers fish feed producers an algae-based additive for soy protein concentrate (SPC) in salmon feed. The additive has advantages when mixed into normal salmon feed as it contributes to sustainability and can cause savings for fish farmers who can, among other things, use this as a competitive advantage and increase the salmon's selling price.

The Norwegian-grown algae are short-haul; their production and transport are associated with smaller amounts of CO2 than soy imports from distant countries such as Brazil. Likewise, the microalgae use CO2 as a nutrient and residual heat from other businesses, thus contributing to reduced CO2 emissions. The product is produced from algae waste materials coming from other businesses, thus leading to a more complete utilization of the microalgae. A more sustainable fish feed can restore trust among consumers, as well as evoke the impression of upholding sustainability values in the rearing industry, which can constitute a competitive advantage for fish producers and lead to the attraction of more customers to their products.
